Did you know…
80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of periodontal disease?! It is the number one most prevalent health issue for dogs and cats.
This dental disease affects the gums, causes teeth loss and fractured teeth.
Advanced stages of periodontal disease leads to systemic effects such as kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes, oral cancer, etc.
The infection can spread to many different parts of the body.
We are supposed to brush our pets teeth at least once a week, daily brushing is recommended!
It is recommended that your pet has its’ teeth checked and professionally cleaned yearly by a veterinarian.
Prevention is key here and early stages can be reversed with regular teeth brushing.
We want to help you get your pets oral hygiene in order by offering a 20% discount on all dental products this month!
Meet “Kimchi”
Our featured animal this month is a very handsome Halmahera blue tongue skink that we lovingly named Kimchi.
These blue tongue skinks are generally between 18-24 inches. They live around 15-20 years and hail from the Halmahera island of Indonesia. They can also be found in New Guinea.
Kimchi requires a 75 gallon enclosure (or larger). He needs at least 80% humidity and a basking area of 90-100 degrees.
